Malliotakis Stands In Solidarity with Jewish Communities

February 27, 2017

Assemblywoman Nicole Malliotakis (R,C,I-Brooklyn/Staten Island) issued a statement today denouncing local anti-Semitism. She weighed in after it had been confirmed there was another wave of bomb threats against Jewish Community Centers across the nation and in New York, including Jewish Community Centers in Staten Island.

“I am angry and saddened to hear about the recent bomb threats against Jewish Community Centers in Staten Island. I join Governor Cuomo in expressing great concern over these threats and commend him on ordering an immediate investigation into this serious matter so we can hold accountable those responsible for these threats.

For years, JCC of Staten Island has opened their doors to people of all backgrounds and continues to serve a vital role in strengthening our community. This type of anti-Semitic aggression threatens our community’s commonality, and is a threat to us all. It simply cannot and will not be tolerated. I want all our Jewish neighbors to know that I stand in solidarity with them as we work to overcome these heinous divides.”
