ďStaten Islandís women have played such an integral part of the place we all call home, and they deserve our utmost praise and accolades which is why an event like this is so important. Our community is known for those who have stood up for what is right and had the courage to persevere through struggle with the goal of helping others, and each of these women encapsulates that story. We are honored to host this event and look forward to seeing you all there,Ē said Malliotakis, Savino, and Rose.

The legislators will present awards to three women who have contributed significantly to Staten Islandís community. The honorees include Megan Delmar of Obtaining Opportunities for Others Through Horses, Priscilla Marco of Public Employees Federation, and Tanisha Franks of Mothers Against Senseless Killing and United Federation of Teachers.
