Rozic Brings Sticky Notes Display to Flushing

Post-it therapy frenzy is spreading across five boroughs

Rozic: “Don’t feel stuck, share your post-election thoughts, holiday wishes”

Queens, NY -- To give Queens residents an outlet to express their inner thoughts and concerns, Assemblywoman Nily Rozic (D, WF-Flushing) announced today that her storefront window will be transformed into an interactive project open to the public that echoes sticky note displays popping up all over New York.

“People should have an opportunity to express themselves and remind everyone that we are a strong and united community,” said Assemblywoman Nily Rozic. “I want to give everyone a small outlet to express their post-election thoughts, grief, confusion and responses moving forward.”

New Yorkers had taken to a tunnel that connects the 14th Street stations at Seventh Avenue and Avenue of the Americas to demonstrate their feelings following the victory of President-elect Donald Trump. The project was initiated by New York artist Matthew “Levee” Chavez.

Messages written on a selection of neon notes range from comforting quotes to political statements. Some sticky notes are in response to others, while most are individual thoughts.

Rozic’s office is located at 159-16 Union Turnpike in Flushing, and is open to the public Monday through Friday, 10am-5pm. The storefront has previously hosted seasonal artwork from local artists as well as artwork from elementary and middle students in the area.
