Assemblymember Harris Advocates Expanding Ferry Service to Coney Island

August 8, 2017

“Traveling to and from Coney Island by subway has always been a difficult commute, but it has been made even tougher by the recent issues plaguing the MTA. Providing an alternate transportation service like the ferry will ease the burden that so many commuters already face and make our community an even better place to live.

“The long commute to and from Coney Island to places like Manhattan means fewer and fewer people are spending summer days on the boardwalk, or taking part in all our community has to offer. In addition to ensuring residents have a safe and reliable transportation option, expanding ferry service will ensure more people come to Coney Island to visit and live. That’s good for our local economy and good for our community as a whole.”
