Assemblymember Steck Helps Pass Bill to Ensure Capital Region Residents Can Heat Their Homes

“It’s absolutely unconscionable that in times of extreme cold, homeowners who heat their homes with propane are prevented from accessing the energy they need to stay warm because of a contract with a supplier that is not delivering. We’ve already seen some icy temperatures this winter, and we will likely see more. The law that prevents homeowners from seeking outside suppliers in times of drastic need is archaic and must be changed. I’m proud to stand with my colleagues to pass this bill that will help families in the Capital Region and across the state.”
