Assemblymember Rodneyse Bichotte and Constituents to Honor Karine Jean-Pierre for Haitian Unity Day in Albany

Albany, NY This year’s Haitian Unity Day will honor CNN contributor and MoveOn.org spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre. Ms. Jean-Pierre, the daughter of Haitian immigrants, has long been an advocate for Haitian Americans and immigrant communities generally.

Haitian Unity Day will be hosted and sponsored by Assemblymember Rodneyse Bichotte, the Haitian-American Legislators and the Haitian Unity Planning Committee: Assemblymembers Ellen Jaffee, Michaelle Solages, Kimberly Jean-Pierre, Clyde Venal and state Senators Kevin Parker and David Carlucci.

“Given the threats to Temporary Protected Status and the vile anti-immigrant rhetoric coming out of the White House, it is critical that Haitian-Americans stand up and take pride in their contributions to this great state and country,” said Assemblymember Bichotte.

The day will include a tour of the Capital, a group photo in the Well of the Legislative Office Building as well as a Lunch/Ceremony in the Well.

At 2 PM, the member will introduce a resolution commemorating Haitian Unity Day on the floor. The Senate will introduce their resolution at 3 PM.
