Pheffer Amato Congratulates NYC Police Officers on New Contract

South Queens, NY – Assemblywoman Stacey Pheffer Amato (D-South Queens) issued the following statement on the successful contract negotiations between New York City and the Police Benevolent Association (PBA):

“Congratulations to all of the police officers in the NYPD on their new contract. I applaud the PBA leadership and Mayor Adams for coming together and delivering on behalf of the hard-working men and women of NYC who always deserve more.

For years I have urged NYC leadership to provide our police officers with the salary, resources, and respect they deserve – and we are now headed in the right direction! Investing in our police officers and giving them the tools they need to keep us safe is something I fight for every day and am elated to see it pay off for them and their families.

In this new contract police officers will see a retroactive raise from 2017, and a continued raise till 2025. I am excited to see this be finalized in the coming weeks and believe this is a great step in giving the men and women who protect us something they deserve.”
