Pheffer Amato Meets New Chancellor

Albany, New York - This past Tuesday, May 1st, Assemblywoman Stacey Pheffer Amato (D-South Queens) met with NYC Schools Chancellor Richard Carranza for a brisk exchange of ideas between the City and its state legislative delegation on the future of education.

“I thank Chancellor Carranza for meeting with the State Legislative delegation to discuss many educational issues,” said Pheffer Amato. “While I am hopeful for the new Chancellor, there’s much work left to do. New York City’s schools need to become more accountable to their local communities and more equitable across the board. I’m hopeful about our children’s futures, and I look forward to working with my fellow legislators and the Chancellor to bring schools and communities closer together.”
