Facebook Offers New Opportunity For Job Seekers

Assemblyman highlights new resource for those looking for work

Assemblyman Steve Hawley (R,I,C – Batavia) is encouraging Western New Yorkers searching for work to take advantage of a new program being offered by Facebook and the Department of Labor. The Social Jobs Partnership is a new Facebook page that offers links to job openings provided by organizations like the Labor Department, the National Association of State Workforce Agencies, the National Association of Colleges and Employers and the DirectEmployers Association.

“The Social Jobs Partnership offers a unique opportunity for Western New Yorkers that are struggling to find work during this economic downturn,” said Hawley. “In times of economic turmoil, we must take advantage of every resource available to job seekers. This program is not only a great opportunity for our young, aspiring professionals that are already familiar with Facebook and social media, but serves as another incentive for the older generations to learn how to use new technology to their advantage. I encourage all Western New Yorkers in search of work to explore this new program.”
