Barclay: Testimony Today Reaffirms Keeping Nuclear is in Ratepayer's Best Interest

Assemblyman Will Barclay (R,C,I,Ref-Pulaski) released the following statement today after a hearing held in Albany by the Assembly Majority who questioned the state's decision to invest in nuclear power generation.

"I am pleased the Public Service Commission and NYSERDA testified today. Their testimony provided further evidence that the state's decision to implement the Clean Energy Standard and, more specifically, that the Zero Emissions Credits was the right choice for all of New York state. The standard will ensure that our state does not become overly reliant on fossil fuels, particularly from electricity which is derived from imported natural gas. The investment in nuclear will help keep electricity more affordable for ratepayers and save jobs in Central New York."
