"We need to make a challenge to the world that we have to fully deal with the problem of climate change and this bill moves us in that direction.  I think that unless we want to be seen by our children and grandchildren as having failed to act when there is a real crisis, we need to start and this bill is a good start toward achieving that," said Assemblymember William Colton, speaking on a bill that would enact the New York State Climate and Community Protection Act to address and mitigate the impacts of climate change in New York State during Assembly legislative session.
