Some school districts in the area are seeing declining enrollment, lower state aid, and
increased difficulty getting budgets passed with ever-growing property taxes. This forum is an
opportunity to discuss what is often considered highly controversial. Hopefully it will offer
insight about ways other states have approached education financing, and what we can do to continue
to offer the excellent educational programs and high standards we are known for in Westchester and
Putnam Counties, and New York as a whole. These panelists have all been involved with studies within
New York State and beyond that analyzed areas schools can look to for savings.
There will be an opportunity for Q & A following the panel discussion.
