I am saddened by the passing of Senator Patricia McGee. I had the privilege of serving with Pat in the Assembly. She never failed to fight tenaciously for legislation that would benefit her constituents in the Southern Tier. Pat was never afraid to tell you where she stood, but she was also one of the nicest people you could ever hope to meet. Pat’s career spanned nearly three decades, during which she fought tirelessly on behalf of women’s issues, the promotion of agriculture, as well as higher education and transportation. New York has lost a dedicated public servant, and I have lost a friend. My condolences and prayers go out to her family, friends, and anyone who ever had the pleasure of crossing paths with this distinguished lady. |
