Local Landmark and Landscape Art Opening Extended

Assembly Minority Leader Will Barclay today announced the art show opening hours have been extended from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 24. Art awards and a brief presentation will be at 5:30 p.m. at CNY Community Arts Center.

“The response has been incredible. I am humbled by the artwork my office has received. The photography and paintings are truly inspiring. We hope the public can come out and enjoy the evening at a great, fun, and newly remodeled space at CNY Community Arts Center,” said Leader Barclay.

This is the fifth annual Local Landscapes and Landmarks visual art exhibit where artists from the 120th Assembly District share their talent for capturing Central New York’s natural beauty and historic landmarks. The show is presented in partnership with the Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce and CNY Community Arts Center.

This art show was free to enter. A panel of judges will review the works and award gift cards to local restaurants to first, second and honorable mentions in photography and painting. The works will be on display at the art center until Nov. 8 and can be viewed by appointment by emailing Bonnie McClellan at executivedirector@cnyartscenter.com or by calling 315-598-2787.After the exhibit is concluded, the artists may have their work displayed in the Legislative Office Building in Albany. Leader Barclay’s district office will keep the art on file until April 2025, and staff will be in contact once the art is ready to be picked up.

CNY Arts Center is located at 121 Cayuga St., Fulton, NY 13069. Snacks and refreshments will be provided for those in attendance. If you have any questions, please contact the district office via email at barclayw@nyassembly.gov or by phone at 315-598-5185.
