Assembly Minority Leader Brian M. Kolb (R,C,I,Ref-Canandaigua) attended a Police Appreciation Dinner on May 16, 2018 at the Victor-Farmington Rotary Club. While at the dinner, he presented Sheriff Philip Povero (left) with the Exceptional Service Award. This award is given to an individual to recognize their commitment to public service and their community. Sheriff Povero, a 27-year veteran of the Ontario County Sheriff's department, is currently the longest serving sheriff in New York State and is set to retire at the end of the year. Also honored at this event were: Deputy Zdenek Chumacero of the Ontario County Sherriff's department and Senior Investigator Chris L. Baldwin of the New York State Police, who both received the Service Above Self award, the Rotary's highest honor.
