Speaker Heastie Announces $1 Million for Perinton Park Skatepark on Annual Statewide Tour

Speaker Carl Heastie today continued his annual statewide tour in Monroe County, joining Assemblymember Jen Lunsford to announce $1 million in state funding for the construction of a skatepark in Perinton Park.

“Every year my tour allows me to visit different parts of the state and see the great things happening in our communities,” Speaker Heastie said. “I’m happy to be here today with Assemblymember Lunsford to announce this funding. The skatepark and improvements are an investment in Perinton Park and in the Fairport community.”

“This skatepark will be a great addition to Perinton Park, providing a place for children and families to skate and enjoy the park along the Erie Canal,” Assemblymember Lunsford said. “I’m so glad we were able to secure funding for this investment in the community, and am delighted to have Speaker Heastie on the ground here with us today for the announcement.”

Speaker Heastie and Assemblymember Lunsford visited the Village of Fairport to announce $1 million in state funding that will be used to build the new skate park. They were joined by Fairport Mayor Julie Domaratz, Perinton Town Supervisor Ciaran Hanna, Perinton Town Board member Meredith Stockman-Broadbent and Fairport Skatepark Campaign member Greg Pilato. In addition to the skatepark, the project will also update the surrounding area, including a parking lot expansion, restroom, a bicycle pump track and other amenities. Perinton Park is located along the Erie Canal, and is a short walk from the center of the Village of Fairport.
