Speaker Heastie Continues Statewide Tour in Mechanicville to Announce $1 Million Investment in Local Community Center

Speaker Carl Heastie continued his statewide tour today with Assemblymember Carrie Woerner at Mechanicville Elementary School to join kids from Mechanicville Area Community Services Center (MACSC) for ice cream and to announce a $1 million investment to expand MACSC.

“Every year on my statewide tour I am overwhelmed with appreciation for community centers like MACSC and for all the great things they are doing,” said Speaker Heastie. “The Assembly will always fight to help organizations like these get the funding they need, and I am so happy to be here today with Assemblymember Woerner to announce this $1 million investment for their expansion.”

“The Mechanicville Area Community Services Center is such a beloved place that does so much for the community it serves,” said Assemblymember Woerner. “I am so grateful to have the speaker here with us again and for his continued support in securing critical investments like this one.”

MACSC provides a wide range of community-based services from pre-school and after school to food security and domestic violence services. The $1 million investment will allow the organization to expand its domestic violence services, create a workforce development training center and events space, and help to purchase an adjacent property for expansion.
