Last Tuesday, following the weekend’s storms and flooding, Assemblymember Chris Eachus invited me to Highland Falls to see firsthand the damage done to the region’s infrastructure, homes and local businesses. Over the course of the day, we had the opportunity to speak to families as they began to sort through the devastation and discuss what they needed from us to begin the process of recovery.
After our visit, Assemblymember Eachus and I discussed with the governor the ways that we could deliver on assistance to these homeowners and their families. I’m glad that we were able to work together with the governor and Assemblymember Eachus to provide this critical funding for Orange County. We will continue to work with our partners in government to support the needs of all of those impacted and get them the resources they need to recover and rebuild their homes and livelihoods.
