Speaker Heastie Continues Annual Statewide Tour with Assemblymember Sayegh at Yonkers Police Athletic League Facility
Speaker Carl Heastie continued his annual statewide tour today with Assemblymember Nader Sayegh to announce $1 million for the Yonkers Police Athletic League (PAL) Facility, a non-profit organization that provides youth with recreational, educational, cultural and social programs.
“The Assembly Majority remains committed to supporting community organizations making their neighborhood a better place,” said Speaker Heastie. “I’m honored to join Assemblymember Sayegh today to meet with PAL and discuss their effort to provide our young people the support and opportunities they need to thrive.”
“Playing sports is a foundational aspect of childhood and PAL is working hard to ensure no child misses out due to their economic standing,” said Assemblymember Sayegh. “I’m incredibly proud that Speaker Heastie gets to join us today to meet with our community and discuss what PAL needs to ensure future generations of children are provided the educational, recreational and support services they need.”
Speaker Heastie and Assemblymember Sayegh met with Executive Director Marisol Mancebo to tour the PAL center in Yonkers. For years, PAL has provided a place for young people to learn, grow and dream through recreational opportunities. The Yonkers location has also served as a shelter for displaced families following natural disasters. To continue providing for the community, the center is in need of renovations to their air conditioning, ventilation and roof.
