Agency Mission
The Office of General Services' (OGS) mission is to provide four different categories of services to its State agency customers. These include:
-- custodial, maintenance, security and utility services at non-institutional State buildings;
-- centralized services on a general fund chargeback basis, including telecommunications, data processing, and design services;
-- procurement and lease contracting; and
-- surplus State land conveyances services.
Year-to-Year Change
On an All Funds basis, State Operations appropriations increased by $19,951,300 or 6 percent. Capital Projects appropriations increased by $42,300,000 or 79 percent.
Legislative Proposals
The Assembly proposes a re-estimation of the sale value of the 384,000 square foot, State-owned building located at 270 Broadway in Manhattan to better reflect the current Manhattan real estate market, this re-estimation generating an additional $13,000,000 in revenues to the State.
The Assembly proposes that State agencies and public authorities subtract the amount of sales, personal income and corporate tax revenues a potential bid winner would generate back to the State from the bidder's respective bid proposal, to determine the lowest qualified/responsible bidder.
The Assembly provides that the reconstruction of the Capitol building elevators not result in any staffing reductions.
The Assembly provides $850,000 in funding toward New York State's share of the cost of the National World War II Memorial. In addition, the Assembly provides $100,000 for the New York State World War II Memorial.
