Agency Mission
The Department of Taxation and Finance administers New York State's tax laws and related local taxes. The Department also collects State taxes totaling over $33 billion, and manages the State Treasury.
Year-to-Year Change
The Executive recommends funding of $342,273,000 for State Fiscal Year 1998-99, an increase of $8,609,000, or 2.6 percent, over the current year.

As the State undergoes computer centralization, the Assembly proposes to eliminate redundant computer purchases by reducing the Revenue Information and Management account.
