Agency Mission
The Governor's Office of Regulatory Reform (GORR) is charged with promoting private sector job growth in New York State as well as the review and reform of State regulations to better improve the economy and growth of private sector business in New York State through the Business Assistance Program.
Year-to-Year Change
The Executive requests $2,468,800 for State Fiscal Year (SFY) 1999-2000. This represents a decrease of $274,500 or 10 percent below SFY 1998-99. $144,000 of the decrease represents annualization of current year salary negotiations, and $388,000 in nonpersonal service reduction to the Permitting Database initiative.
The Assembly reduces funding to the Governor's Office of Regulatory Reform by $960,502 representing the reduced functions of the office.

The Assembly reduces funding for the Governor's Office of Regulatory Reform (GORR). The Governor's Office of Regulatory Reform is not in statute. The Assembly budget re-establishes the Office of Business Permits. The current business permit assistance functions of GORR will be assumed by the Office of Business Permits.
