  TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the real property tax law, in relation to the establish- ing eligibility for a tax exemption on real property for enrolled members of ocean rescue squads in certain municipalities; and to repeal section 1 of a chapter of the laws of 2024 relating to the eligibility of enrolled members of Southampton Village Ocean Rescue for a tax exemption on real property, as proposed in legislative bills numbers S. 2158-A and A. 1353-A   PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL: The purpose of this bill is to effectuate an amendment to chapter 606 of the laws of 2024 relating to a real property tax exemption for enrolled members of ocean rescue squads in certain municipalities.   SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS:. Section one repeals section one of chapter 606 of the laws of 2024. Section two makes technical amendments to clarify the scope of the exemption and state the requirements for eligibility. Section three is the effective date.   JUSTIFICATION: This chapter makes technical amendments to ensure the effectiveness and correct implementation of chapter 606 of the laws of 2024.   PRIOR LEGISLATIVE HISTORY: This bill is a chapter amendment to chap- ter 606 of the laws of 2024.   FISCAL IMPLICATIONS FOR STATE AND LOCAL GOVERNMENTS: Undetermined.   EFFECTIVE DATE: This act shall take effect on the same date and in the same manner as a chapter of the laws of 2024 relating to the eligibility of enrolled members of Southampton Village Ocean Rescue for a tax exemption on real property, as proposed in legislative bills numbers S.2158-A and A.1353-A, takes effect.
