Assembly Resolution No. 339

        MOURNING   the   death   of   John   "JR"  Gaudet,
        distinguished citizen,  respected  Firefighter,  and
        devoted member of his community
 
  WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
citizens  of  the  State  of  New York whose lifework and civic endeavor
served to enhance the quality of life  in  their  communities  and  this
great Empire State; and
 
  WHEREAS,  John "JR" Gaudet of Binghamton, New York, died in the line
of duty on February 12, 2025, at the age of 40; and
 
  WHEREAS, John Gaudet distinguished himself in his profession and  by
his  sincere  dedication  and substantial contribution to the welfare of
his community; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Born  to  Charles  and  Mary  Ellen  Gaudet,  John  Gaudet
dedicated  his  life to his family, his community, and his heroic career
as a firefighter; and
 
  WHEREAS, John Gaudet was born and raised in  Binghamton,  New  York,
and  his  love  for  his  community  was exemplified by his love for his
children, Charles, Vanessa, and Michael,  and  wife,  Felly  Gaudet,  in
Binghamton; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Having graduated from Binghamton High School in 2002, John
Gaudet attended both Binghamton University and SUNY Cortland,  where  he
played on the lacrosse teams for both schools; and
 
  WHEREAS, John Gaudet's love for lacrosse, combined with his devotion
to  his  community and family, led him to coach youth lacrosse teams for
Binghamton, Seton, and Windsor school districts, in addition to coaching
Binghamton youth football, basketball, and lacrosse for his son Charlie;
and
 
  WHEREAS, John Gaudet, lovingly called "JR" by cherished friends  and
family, always put others before himself both in and out of uniform, and
his  infectious  smile,  unmatched  positivity, and honorable work ethic
made him unforgettable to all whom he crossed paths with; and
 
  WHEREAS, John Gaudet's commitment to excellence, and his  spirit  of
humanity,   carried  over  into  all  fields  of  enterprise,  including
charitable and civic endeavors; and
 
  WHEREAS, John Gaudet is survived by his loving wife,  Felly  Gaudet;
three  beloved  children,  Charles,  Vanessa,  and Michael; his parents,
Charles and  Mary  Ellen  Gaudet;  his  sister,  Katherine  Gaudet;  his
brother-in-law,  Simon  Agustinus, and his wife, Erin Agustinus, as well
as their son,  Maddox  Agustinus;  and  childhood  best  friends,  Dante
DePersis and Michael Marion; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Armed  with a humanistic spirit and imbued with a sense of
compassion, John Gaudet leaves behind a legacy which  will  long  endure
 
the  passage  of  time  and will remain as a comforting memory to all he
served and befriended; now, therefore, be it
 
  RESOLVED,  That  this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
mourn the death of John "JR" Gaudet,  distinguished  citizen,  respected
Firefighter, and devoted member of his community; and be it further
 
  RESOLVED,  That  a  copy  of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the family of John "JR" Gaudet.
