WELCOMING Pakistani-American businesses to the
Legislative Chambers in Albany, New York on March
19, 2025, and recognizing their vast contributions
to the State of New York
WHEREAS, The economic and cultural vitality of New York State is
strengthened by the diverse contributions of immigrant communities,
including the Pakistani-American business community, which has played a
significant role in the growth and prosperity of our State; and
WHEREAS, Pakistani-American entrepreneurs and business owners have
established thriving enterprises across New York State, contributing to
a wide range of industries, including retail, hospitality, technology,
finance, healthcare, real estate, and manufacturing, while creating jobs
and economic opportunities for countless New Yorkers; and
WHEREAS, Pakistani-American businesses have been instrumental in
fostering economic development, revitalizing neighborhoods, and
supporting local economies, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to
innovation, resilience, and the pursuit of the American Dream; and
WHEREAS, These businesses not only serve as engines of economic
growth but also enrich the cultural fabric of New York by sharing the
rich heritage, traditions, and values of the Pakistani-American
community through food, art, fashion, and community engagement; and
WHEREAS, Pakistani-American business leaders and entrepreneurs have
actively contributed to philanthropic initiatives, disaster relief
efforts, and charitable causes, supporting their communities both in New
York and abroad, embodying a spirit of generosity and social
responsibility; and
WHEREAS, It is fitting that we recognize and honor the invaluable
contributions of Pakistani-American businesses to the State of New York,
acknowledging their role in fostering economic progress, cultural
diversity, and community empowerment; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
welcome Pakistani-American businesses to the Legislative Chambers in
Albany, New York on March 19, 2025, and to recognize their vast
contributions to the State of New York; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to The Honorable Kathy Hochul, Governor of the State of New
York; the Pakistani Consulate in New York City; and the American
Pakistani Advocacy Group (APAG).
