BILL NUMBER: A407

SPONSOR: Cahill
TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the public health law, in relation to prior notice of physician privileges in nursing home residency agreements   PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL: Requires nursing homes to provide potential residents with their policy on granting physician privileges prior to the execution of a residency agreement.   SUMMARY OF SPECIFIC PROVISIONS: Adds a new paragraph q to subdivision 3 of section 2803-c of the public health law.   JUSTIFICATION: Potential nursing home residents have a right to know which physicians will be available to provide care prior to signing a residency agree- ment.
