  TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the criminal procedure law, in relation to designating the animal control officer in the town of Sand Lake as a peace officer   PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL: Designates the animal control officer in the town of Sand Lake as a Peace Officer.   SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: To amend the criminal procedure law in relation to designating the animal control officer in the town of Sand Lake as a Peace Officer The people of the state of New York, represented in Senate and Assembly, do enact as follows: 1. Section 1. Section 2.10 of the criminal procedure law is amended by 2. adding a new subdivision 60 to read as follows; 3. 60. The animal control officer of the town of Sand, Rensselaer, 4. county, who at the discretion of the town board of the town of Sand Lake 5. may be designated as a constable for the purpose of enforcing article 6. twenty-six of the agriculture and markets law, and for the purpose of 7. missing appearance tickets permitted under article seven of such law, 8. provided, however that nothing in this subdivision shall be deemed to 9. authorize such officer to carry, possess, repair or dispose of a firearm 10. unless the appropriate license therefore has been issued pursuant to 11. section 400.00 of the penal law. 12.         AN ACT to amend the criminal procedure law, in relation  to  designating
          the animal control officer in the town of Sand Lake as a peace officer
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
