TITLE OF BILL:
An act to amend chapter 443 of the laws of 2007 amending the tax law
relating to authorizing the county of Cortland to impose an additional
mortgage recording tax, in relation to extending the effectiveness of
such provisions
 
PURPOSE:
The bill authorizes Cortland County to extend their mortgage recording
tax.
 
SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS:
Section one of the bill extends the authorization of Cortland County to
impose an additional mortgage recording tax for two years.
Section two establishes the effective date.
 
JUSTIFICATION:
Cortland County requested legislation to extend their authorization to
impose the additional mortgage recording tax which is set to expire this
year.
 
LEGISLATIVE HISTORY:
Extends Chapter 58 of the laws of 2020. FISCAL IMPLICATIONS: This
legislation extends the authority for Cortland County to impose the
additional rate, but will have no fiscal implications for the state
 
EFFECTIVE DATE:
This act shall take effect immediately.

AN ACT to amend chapter 443 of the laws of 2007 amending the tax law
relating to authorizing the county of Cortland to impose an additional
mortgage recording tax, in relation to extending the effectiveness of
such provisions
The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-bly, do enact as follows:
1 Section 1. Section 2 of chapter 443 of the laws of 2007 amending the
2 tax law relating to authorizing the county of Cortland to impose an
3 additional mortgage recording tax, as amended by section 1 of item E of
4 subpart E of part XXX of chapter 58 of the laws of 2020, is amended to
5 read as follows:
6 § 2. This act shall take effect on the sixtieth day after it shall
7 have become a law and shall expire and be deemed repealed December 1,
8 [2023] 2025.
9 § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
