  TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to terminal leave   PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL: To provide uniformed. members of the NYC Department of Correction and the NYC Department of Sanitation the option of taking a monetary payment in lieu of terminal leave.   SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Section one amends the administrative code of the City of New.Ydrk through the addition of a new section 9-153 which relates to the termi- nal leave of uniformed personnel in the NYC Department of Correction. Section two amends the administrative code of the City of New York through the addition of a new section 16-143 which relates to the termi- nal leave of uniformed personnel in the NYC Department of Sanitation. Section three provides that this act shall take effect immediately.   JUSTIFICATION: This bill would provide that uniformed members of the NYC Department of Correction and Department of Sanitation have the option of taking mone- tary payment in lieu of terminal leave.   PRIOR LEGISLATIVE HISTORY: 02/06/17 referred to governmental employees 01/03/18 referred to governmental employees 02/12/18 amend and recommit to governmental employees 02/12/18 print number 4986a   FISCAL IMPLICATIONS: Undetermined.   EFFECTIVE DATE: This act shall take effect immediately.

        AN  ACT  to  amend  the  administrative code of the city of New York, in
          relation to terminal leave
 
          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:

     1    Section  1. The administrative code of the city of New York is amended
     2  by adding a new section 9-168 to read as follows:
     3    § 9-168 Terminal leave. Notwithstanding the provisions of any general,
     4  special or local law, code,  resolution  or  charter  to  the  contrary,
     5  uniformed  personnel of the New York city department of correction shall
     6  be afforded the option of taking a monetary payment in lieu of  terminal
     7  leave at the rate applicable on the date of retirement.
     8    §  2.  The  administrative  code of the city of New York is amended by
     9  adding a new section 16-146 to read as follows:
    10    § 16-146 Terminal leave. Notwithstanding the provisions of any  gener-
    11  al,  special  or local law, code, resolution or charter to the contrary,
    12  uniformed members of the New York city department of sanitation shall be
    13  afforded the option of taking a monetary payment  in  lieu  of  terminal
    14  leave at the rate applicable on the date of retirement.
    15    § 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
