ARROYO, ROBINSON, ROSA -- read once and referred to the Committee on Election Law -- committee discharged, bill amended, ordered reprinted as amended and recommitted to said committee AN ACT to amend the election law, in relation to requiring that all printed political campaign mailing pieces include a message about recycling the printed materials The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. The election law is amended by adding a new section 3-111 2 to read as follows: 3 § 3-111. Recycling of campaign and political literature. All poli- 4 tical literature in New York state, whether hand-billed or mailed, shall 5 have affixed to it, the recycling logo signified by three chasing arrows 6 in a triangular configuration, and the following printed message: "This 7 material is recyclable. Please properly recycle after use." 8 § 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in italics (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [] is old law to be omitted. LBD07494-07-3
