        AN ACT to amend the public health law, in relation to including informa-
          tion on pediatric acute-onset neuropsychiatric syndrome in the  health
          care and wellness education and outreach program

          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. Subdivision 1 of section 207 of the public  health  law  is
     2  amended by adding a new paragraph (n) to read as follows:
     3    (n)  Pediatric acute-onset neuropsychiatric syndrome, a clinical diag-
     4  nosis given to children who have a sudden and dramatic onset of  neurop-
     5  sychiatric  symptoms  including  obsessive  compulsive  disorder  and/or
     6  eating disorder, and which may cause affected children to become  moody,
     7  irritable  and anxious, and to have difficulty with schoolwork. Provided
     8  that such program shall include an advisory council under  this  section
     9  that  shall include representatives of people with pediatric acute-onset
    10  neuropsychiatric syndrome and their families and health  care  providers
    11  who specialize in treating such syndrome, among others.
    12    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
