TITLE OF BILL:
An act to amend the general municipal law, in relation to authorizing
the lease of space on certain sports field fences in the town of York-
town, in the county of Westchester
 
PURPOSE:
This bill would allow the town of Yorktown to lease any and all sports
field fences at Legacy Field and Granite Knoll Sports Complex annually
 
SUMMARY OF SPECIFIC PROVISIONS:
Section one amends the general municipal law by adding section 77-i
Section two sets forth the effective date.
 
JUSTIFICATION:
This bill was created at the request of the Town Board of the Town of
Yorktown. They request the ability to lease advertisement space on the
athletic field fences at Legacy Field and Granite Knolls Sports Complex
in order to fund turf replacement at both facilities.

AN ACT to amend the general municipal law, in relation to authorizing
the lease of space on certain sports field fences in the town of York-
town, in the county of Westchester
The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-bly, do enact as follows:
1 Section 1. The general municipal law is amended by adding a new
2 section 77-i to read as follows:
3 § 77-i. Sports field fence leases in the town of Yorktown, Westchester
4 county. Notwithstanding any provision of any general, special or local
5 law or of any charter to the contrary, the town of Yorktown, in the
6 county of Westchester, may lease any and all sports field fences at
7 Legacy Field and Granite Knolls Sports Complex annually, at a nominal
8 rent, to a not-for-profit corporation or organization, organized under
9 the laws of the state of New York for the purpose of permitting the sale
10 of advertising, with the revenues to be used solely for the care of said
11 parks and field in the town of Yorktown, Westchester county.
12 § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
