        Introduced  by  Sen.  RANZENHOFER -- read twice and ordered printed, and
          when printed to be committed to the Committee on Transportation
 
        AN ACT to amend the vehicle and traffic law, in relation to the  permis-
          sible level of rear side window tinting for all vehicles
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. Subparagraph 3 of paragraph  (b)  of  subdivision  12-a  of
     2  section 375 of the vehicle and traffic law, as amended by chapter 155 of
     3  the laws of 1991, is amended to read as follows:
     4    (3)  if  [it  is classified as a station wagon, sedan, hardtop, coupe,
     5  hatchback or convertible and] any rear side window has a light transmit-
     6  tance of less than seventy percent; or
     7    § 2. This act shall take effect on the ninetieth day  after  it  shall
     8  have become a law.
