TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the education law, in relation to requirements for approval of charter school applications   PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL: To apply recently enacted oversaturation language concerning the approval of charter schools to additional decisions such as that of expanding grades.   SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: This bill applies recently enacted oversaturation language concerning the approval of charter schools to additional decisions such as that of expanding grades.   JUSTIFICATION: The 2023-24 Enacted Budget recognized that no revived Zombie Charter Schools should be located in areas where there is oversaturation. This bill extends such logic to schools that seek to expand under existing charters as well.   LEGISLATIVE HISTORY: New Bill.   FISCAL IMPLICATIONS FOR STATE AND LOCAL GOVERNMENTS: None Noted.   EFFECTIVE DATE: Immediate.
