Walsh Echoes Calls For Good Government Reforms

A statement from Assemblywoman Mary Beth Walsh (R,C,I,Ref-Ballston)

The Assembly Minority Conference on Tuesday unveiled a number of rules reform proposals designed to promote transparent and accountable state government. Included in the proposed resolutions are several measures to address ethics-related concerns in Albany, including Messages of Necessity, the aging of bills, leadership term limits and equal staff funding allocations.

“The call for meaningful ethics reform is louder now than ever before, not only here in the 112th Assembly District, but across the Empire State. We have a responsibility to our constituents to address this pressing need, and today’s proposed resolutions represent a major step forward in cleaning up Albany and demanding accountability, transparency and integrity from our state’s leadership. I urge my legislative colleagues to join the Assembly Minority in its commitment to good government, and look forward to continuing to work toward eliminating corruption here in New York.”
