Assemblywoman Buttenschon’s Legislation Honoring Officer Crossley Passes Assembly

Assemblywoman Marianne Buttenschon (D-Utica/Rome) announced that a bill she authored to rename a portion of Route 69 in the village of Whitesboro in memory of fallen Whitesboro Police Officer Kevin F. Crossley passed the Assembly (A.5701-B).

“Officer Kevin Crossley was a beloved and dedicated police officer who lost his life protecting the community he grew up in, and for that, he deserves our utmost gratitude,” Buttenschon said. “His passing was a terrible tragedy, and my thoughts go out to his family and friends. By renaming a portion of Oriskany Boulevard after Officer Crossley, his loved ones can know that the profound impact he made on his community and his memory will never be forgotten.”

Officer Kevin F. Crossley was a seven-year veteran of the Whitesboro Police Department and a lifelong village resident. He lost his life in the line of duty on April 11, 2018, in a crash at the intersection of Oriskany Boulevard and Westmoreland Street.[1] Buttenschon’s bill honors Officer Crossley by renaming a portion of Oriskany Boulevard in Whitesboro, as the “Officer Kevin F. Crossley Memorial Highway.”
