McDonough Honored By LiveOnNY for His Organ Donation Advocacy

Karen Cummings, a Public & Professional Education Specialist for LiveOnNY, presented Assemblyman Dave McDonough (R,C,I-Merrick) with a plaque from LiveOnNY, thanking him for his organ donation advocacy.

LiveOnNY is a staple of our community as they work endlessly 365 days a year to serve New Yorkers. Thanks to their hard work, thousands in need of transplants have been provided with quality care and have had their lives transformed,” McDonough said. “In fact, over 20,000 lives have been saved thanks to LiveOnNY and 5 million organ donors have generously enrolled. I am honored and thankful to have received this Legislative Champion plague from Karen Cummings and LiveOnNY. I commend LiveOnNY for their great work and wish them success moving forward with their worthy goal of saving lives through tissue and organ donation.”

McDonough has worked tirelessly to spread the word about organ donation and registry. Every day, thousands of New Yorkers await an organ or tissue transplant that can save their life or greatly improve the quality of their life. McDonough and LiveOnNY have helped raise awareness about the valuable gift of organ donation--which is the gift of life. Residents can learn more by visiting https://donatelife.ny.gov/register/. They can also register to become an organ donor when renewing their driver license with the DMV.
