Assemblyman McDonough Honors Local Student for Completing Assembly Summer Reading Program

Assemblyman Dave McDonough (R,C,I-Merrick) congratulated Michael Grosso of Bellmore last week for successfully completing the Assembly's Summer Reading Program. The program aims to keep local students engaged in reading outside of the classroom during the summer. This year’s theme was “A Universe of Stories.” In order to complete the program, students must pledge to read at least 15 minutes a day for 40 days between July and August.

“I am so proud to honor the commitment and dedication exemplified by Michael this summer in order to complete our Summer Reading Challenge. It’s crucial for young students to continuously develop their minds and expand their education both in and out of the classroom” said McDonough. “It’s imperative that our young people engage in reading during the summer months in order to foster a successful and beneficial school year. As a longtime member of the Assembly Education Committee, students like Michael continue to inspire and motivate myself and others around them. This is a wonderful accomplishment.”
