McDonough Issues Statement on Start of 2020 Legislative Session

A Statement from Assemblyman Dave McDonough (R,C,I-Merrick) on the start of the 2020 Legislative Session

“If last year’s session was any indication of what’s to come, Majority politicians will continue to advance a divisive and radical political agenda without concern for its grave fiscal and public safety consequences that threaten millions of New Yorkers.

“Suspected burglars, serial felons and those accused of manslaughter released following their arrest, college benefits and driver’s licenses for illegal aliens and billions in proposed tax increases – this is the reality under one-party leadership.

“My focus in 2020 will be on defending the law-abiding middle class to see that they are helped first and foremost instead of radical interests of the Majority politicians which have seized control of the Legislature.

“We need to improve affordability on Long Island, see that our schools and libraries are fully funded, protect our water quality, improve access to alternative high school and technical education, and most importantly, roll back the pro-criminal initiatives of 2019 that are wreaking havoc on our state.”
