Morinello: ‘New York’s Spending Problem far From Over’

A statement from Assemblyman Angelo J. Morinello (R,C,I,Ref-Niagara Falls) on Wednesday, March 13.

“The Assembly Majority’s one-house budget makes it clear New York’s spending problem is far from over. Their proposal blew through our state’s spending cap and piled on an additional $5.7 billion in new taxes, a devastating blow to our middle-class families. State residents are leaving by the thousands and if implemented, today’s one-house budget would surely cause this trend to continue. It’s time we start assessing the effectiveness of state-run programs and holding those accountable who don’t yield positive results. In the coming month, I urge my colleagues in the Legislature to cut waste and unnecessary programs and prioritize the issues that matter to state taxpayers.”Â
