Ra, Colleagues Mark Conference of Italian-American Legislators Day in Capitol by Distributing Scholarships, Hosting Reception

Assemblyman Ed Ra (R,C,I-Franklin Square) today led a ceremony in the Capitol to recognize outstanding students and talented student athletes by presenting four scholarships on behalf of the New York State Conference of Italian-American Legislators.

Ra serves as the Vice-President of the organization.

“We want to empower students and we want to build a brighter future for the state of New York. We’re pleased to offer these scholarships, and we’re proud of the values that form the cornerstone of our shared heritage- hard work, commitment and generosity,” said Ra.

Each scholarship totals $3,500.

“As the cost of a higher education continues to escalate across the country, these scholarships can make a big difference for a student and their family,” said Ra.

Ra said the celebration transcends politics.

“There’s a bipartisan commitment to our communities, to making higher education more accessible and to celebrating our culture. It’s a beautiful thing,” said Ra.
