Assemblyman Smith Thanks State Health Officials For Community Meeting

The New York State Department of Health will be conducting a regional cancer study in the Centereach, Selden, and Farmingville community which will conclude in December 2018.

The New York State Department of Health at the direction of Governor Andrew Cuomo has begun a regional cancer study in Centereach, Selden, and Farmingville communities. Assemblyman Smith helped put together a community meeting on July 17, which over 300 residents attended.

Assemblyman Doug Smith said, “I would like to thank the New York State Health Department for coming into our community and holding a meeting to explain the regional cancer study they will be conducting in Farmingville, Centereach, and Selden. At this meeting State Health Officials answered questions and valued the thoughts and input of every attendee who spoke. They also stayed after the meeting to speak with residents individually. Thank you to the hundreds of residents who joined us and contributed. If you would like to provide any thoughts or information for this study, please send me an email at smithd@nyassembly.gov and I will gladly forward it along.”
