The clear lack of coordination between DOT and Con Edison is disheartening and a huge inconvenience to constituents who must contend with bad roads and lack of parking, not to mention the waste of resources. We spend a lot of time communicating and convening with DOT and Con Edison, both individually and together, regarding various projects. We continuously strive to create a dialogue and foster transparency, communication and coordination between the two by hosting meetings between representatives. We have hosted meetings at our offices regarding this very issue to encourage DOT and Con Ed to coordinate and establish protocol to avoid situations like this. It is ultimately up to Con Ed and DOT to implement such protocol, follow it, and coordinate. The situation is absurd and unacceptable and must not be repeated.
