“New York’s finest are our last line of defense in keeping our community safe, and this senseless attack on our law enforcement officers is yet another symptom of the glaring crisis that has taken hold of our city. Right now, we have an uncontrolled flow of migrants into New York without any checks to see who these people are. When I was on my way to America, there were long waiting periods for asylum seekers where they would check everything from your criminal record to your medical history. We don’t need reforms. We need to return to a system that allows us to properly vet these migrants. Our city deserves better, Brooklyn deserves better and our police officers deserve better.”
