Brook-Krasny Reacts to Migrant Attack on NYPD Officers
Assemblyman Alec Brook-Krasny (R,C-Coney Island, Bay Ridge) commented on the shooting earlier this morning that resulted in two NYPD officers being wounded. The suspect was identified as a Venezuelan migrant who illegally entered the U.S. last summer. Police say the shooter was also a suspect in several robberies across Queens. The two officers involved were released from the hospital earlier today and are expected to make a full recovery.
“What is happening to our police officers in New York is nothing short of a nightmare,” said Brook-Krasny. “Right now, we have people flooding into our city without any idea who they are and if they are a danger to our community. This is completely unacceptable. Taxpayer dollars should not be going toward individuals who break our laws and attack our men and women in blue. I’m thankful the officers involved are on track to make a full recovery and I will continue to advocate for change in Albany to make sure our law enforcement officers are protected.”
