Bailey Appointed to Budget Committee on Public Protection and Criminal Justice

Assemblywoman Andrea Bailey (R,C-Geneseo) has been officially appointed to the Assembly’s Budget Committee on Public Protection and Criminal Justice, a significant role that will allow her to advocate for common-sense public safety funding and policies that prioritize the well-being of New Yorkers.

In her new role, Bailey will work to evaluate and shape budget proposals related to public protection, ensuring adequate funding is being prioritized for our criminal justice system. Holding government agencies accountable for their spending and putting in place policies that improve public safety efforts are her main priorities, and she will do nothing short of ensuring New Yorkers get just that.

“I am extremely grateful to have been appointed to this role, and am looking forward to working towards ensuring taxpayer dollars are being utilized efficiently and effectively to support our law enforcement, enhance our state’s public safety and ultimately uphold the rule of law,” said Bailey. “To be able to contribute to these budget negotiations and advocate for funding allocations that actually make sense is not only going to strengthen crime prevention efforts but also support fair and efficient judicial processes that our state demands.”
