Assemblywoman Andrea K. Bailey Joins Keshequa and Naples Elementary Students’ to Celebrate Read Across America Day
Today, Assemblywoman Andrea K. Bailey (R,C-Geneseo) visited Keshequa and Naples Elementary Schools to celebrate Read Across America Day with students and staff, taking part in a nationwide initiative that highlights the importance of literacy and encourages children to develop a lifelong love of reading.
“Visiting Keshequa and Naples Elementary today and reading with these bright, curious students was such a joy,” said Bailey. “Seeing their excitement for books and hearing their ideas reminded me why promoting literacy is so important. Every child deserves the opportunity to explore, imagine and grow through reading, and I’m proud to support our local schools in fostering that love of learning.”
During her visit, she read to six elementary classrooms, sharing personally selected books that were carefully chosen to inspire imagination, spark curiosity and foster creativity. Beyond reading aloud, Bailey engaged students in meaningful conversations about the stories, asking questions that encouraged critical thinking, reflection and connections to their own experiences.
