Garbarino To Hold An Operation Safe Child – Kids ID Drive

April 4, 2019

Assemblyman Andrew Garbarino (R,C,I,Ref-Sayville) will be holding an Operation Safe Child – KIDS ID Drive with the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office on Saturday, May 4 from 2-4:30 p.m. at the Bay Shore-Brightwaters Public Library at 1 South Country Road in Brightwaters. Children will be registered with the New York State Department of Criminal Justice Services (Amber Alert) to aid law enforcement if ever the child goes missing.

“I want to be sure that parents and guardians in my district have the opportunity to keep their children safe. Making sure the Amber Alert system has important information on these children on file helps law enforcement in their efforts to locate a missing child,” said Garbarino. “Thank you to the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office for assistance in helping keep more children safe.”

Officers from the Sheriff’s Department will photograph, fingerprint and submit relevant information on children to the Amber Alert System. Parents will be issued ID cards that will contain critical information to help in the search of a child who goes missing.
