Yesterday New York State Assemblymen Doug Smith (R-Holbrook) and Andrew Garbarino (R-Sayville) joined Suffolk County Deputy Sheriffs PBA President John Becker and Vice President Artie Sanchez to accept a generous donation of 500 KN95 masks made by Jim Cotgreave of the Cotgreave Insurance Agency in Lake Ronkonkoma. This week, the Cotgreave family is personally donating thousands of protective masks to law enforcement organizations and healthcare facilities across Suffolk County to keep our first responders and medical workers safe and healthy.

Joined by his children, Sophia and Chase, Cotgreave said, “My wife Jackie and I have always taught our children the importance of being good neighbors and stepping up in a time of need. We cannot say thank you enough to the hard-working deputy sheriffs who work tirelessly to keep our community safe each day. I want to also thank Assemblymen Doug Smith and Andrew Garbarino for setting up this meeting and supporting law enforcement during this difficult time.”

Smith, who represents Lake Ronkonkoma added, “It is always awe-inspiring to see that whenever there is a need, the people of our community come together to take care of one another. Today we are grateful to Jim Cotgreave, his family, and the Cotgreave Insurance Agency for their generous donation of protective masks that will ensure our brave men and women in law enforcement will be protected as they work to keep us safe on the frontlines in the fight against coronavirus.”

Garbarino said, “On behalf of the people of our great state, I would like to sincerely thank the Cotgreave family for generously donating several thousand protective masks to law enforcement agencies and health facilities in Suffolk County. These donations of life saving protective equipment represent untold lives that will be kept safe as we continue to combat this deadly virus.”

Suffolk County Deputy Sheriffs PBA President John Becker concluded, “Yesterday, the Suffolk County Deputy Sheriffs PBA received a donation of five hundred KN95 Masks to keep our members safe while performing their duties. On behalf of our membership, I would like to take a moment to thank the Cotgreave family as well as Assemblymen Doug Smith and Andrew Garbarino for this life saving donation.”

In addition to the Suffolk County Deputy Sheriffs Association, this week the Cotgreave family is also donating protective masks to the Suffolk County Police Benevolent Association, St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center in Smithtown, and other organizations.
