Morinello Co-Sponsors Bill To Clean Up Albany, Reduce Government Corruption
Today, Assemblyman Angelo J. Morinello (R,C,I,Ref-Niagara Falls) is co-sponsoring a bill to enact term limits on government officials, end bid-rigging and limit special interest influence in campaigns (A-09625). This bill would protect New York state’s electoral process by placing increased limitations on pay-to-play politics and on campaign donations, ensuring government officials are exclusively working for their constituents, not special interest groups.
“I’m thrilled to co-sponsor this bill to enact ethics reform and eliminate government corruption and am hopeful it will restore trust in government and spark a positive change in the Legislature,” said Morinello. “I have long advocated for the common-sense reforms laid out in this bill and if it passes, we can begin challenging the status-quo to clean up Albany and ensure every official is working morally and ethically for the state. I am proud to support this impactful bill and urge my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to join me and end this year’s legislative session with the reforms New Yorkers want and deserve.”
